PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade driving device for a camera whose size in a direction parallel with an optical axis at a part where a motor for driving a blade is attached is prevented from getting larger in the case of attaching the motor for driving a blade to a base board made of synthetic resin. SOLUTION: The shutter blades 23 and 24 are arranged in a blade chamber between the 1st and the 2nd base boards 21 and 22, and actuated to linearly reciprocate in an opposite direction by the output pins 32 and 33 of the motor M. In the motor M, two stator frames 25 and 26 bear a rotator inside, and a cylindrical yoke 28 is fit to the outside of the frames 25 and 26 after winding round a coil 27 to surround their bearing part. Since an aperture part 21b for installing the motor is formed on the 1st base board 21 made of synthetic resin, a part of the frame 26 is inserted even to the surface of the 2nd base board 22 on the blade chamber side in the case of attaching the motor M to the 1st base board 21 by a machine screw 30, whereby the height dimension of the device is reduced by an amount obtained by the above effect.
