PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas meter for outputting an alarm signal, when using gas exceeding setting time in a set flow section. SOLUTION: The gas meter comprises a flow computing means 11 for computing gas flow rate per unit time; a flow section determination section 13 for determining which flow section in flow sections that are divided into a plurality of sections gas flow rate per unit time computed by the flow computing means belongs to; timer means A-D for counting the continuous usage time of gas in the set flow section, when a flow section determined by the flow section determination section belongs to the set flow section; a determining section 16 for comparing the continuous usage time of gas in the set flow section counted by the timer means with set time; and a control section 17 for outputting an alarm signal, when the determining section determines that the continuous usage time of gas at the set flow section concerned exceeds the set time.
