Textile fabric core ply is impregnated with polyethylene, polyurethane or P.V.C. and covered with top plies similary impregnated and made of a fleece or felt. These top plies, both sides of the core, are recessed at intervals to take fabric inserts which are as long as the belt is wide and are spaced out both sides of the belt by intervals several times their length. the belt core is preserved intact, stiffness in unsupported spans is assured, flexibility at return ends, transference of longitudinal forces assured by the intact textile core. Repairs involve patching of the inserts, thus ensuring that the belt works the maximum possible time. |
