PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a source of driving force or a drive system of a driven/driving mechanism 20 by giving assistance to a vehicle to a desired degree when it is needed, and preventing wasteful assistance when it is not needed in a front and rear wheel drive vehicle forming a front and rear wheel driving running condition assisting the start or acceleration of the vehicle by operating the driven/driving mechanism 20 at the time of the start or acceleration of the vehicle. SOLUTION: In the front and rear wheel drive vehicle, a vehicle velocity cutting off the assistance by the front and rear wheel driving running condition is heightened on a skiddy lowμroad, and lowered on an anti-skid highμroad.
