PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress dew condensation in a composting device which has a body part of an almost rectangular parallelepiped shape forming a storage space capable of storing garbage. SOLUTION: The composting device is provided with: aeration parts 12 and 13 which allow aeration with the outside of the upper part and bottom part of the main part 11 of an almost rectangular parallelepiped shape forming a storage space 17 capable of storing garbage in the inside; and heat insulating parts 18 provided so as to surround the circumferential side of the storage space 17. The inside of the storage space 17 is provided with partitioning means 28 of partitioning the storage space into a plurality of garbage storage chambers 27 arranged in series in the long side direction of the almost rectangular parallelepiped. The value of heat insulating properties obtained as the total value of the values obtained by dividing the thickness dimensions of one or more heat insulating members constituting heat insulating parts 20 on the short side by the value of the thermal conductivity of the one or more heat insulating members is controlled to≥1.15 m2×K/W. Thus, the heat insulating properties in the heat insulating parts on the short side is sufficiently secured, and the dew condensation in the sides on the short side of the almost rectangular parallelepiped can be suppressed.
