<p>The method for simulating the corrosion of components in the engine space of a vehicle, whereby components placed in a chamber are subjected to a reference air mixture in the form of a salt cloud by use of atomizing jets. A programmable control unit (7) is used to control the temperature in the test chamber (2) so that it varies in a similar manner to that in the engine space during engine operation, while a component under test is sprayed at predefined time intervals with salt spray. An independent claim is made for a device for simulating the corrosion of components in the engine space of a vehicle.</p> |
