摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image forming material in which the change of hue in an image forming layer due to an infrared absorbing coloring matter decomposition product at the irradiation of laser beam is suppressed, and a multicolor image forming method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The laser thermal transfer type multicolor image forming material consists of an image receiving sheet having an image receiving layer, and a thermal transfer sheet has at least a photothermally converting layer and the image forming layer on a support. The image forming layer of an at least one color thermal transfer sheet includes anatase type titanium oxide, and, at the same time, the photothermally converting layer includes infrared absorbing coloring matter as a photothermally converting substance. In the multicolor image forming method, the multicolor image forming material is employed so that an image recording process for transferring the laser beam irradiating region of the image forming layer onto the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet, by irradiating laser beam under the state that the image forming layer of the thermal transfer sheet and the image receiving layer of the image receiving sheet are piled up so as to be opposed to each other; and a process for applying ultraviolet beam to the transferred image forming layer are included. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
