<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for time synchronization between multimedia content and metadata by setting predetermined time information and performing arithmetic operations between the time information. <P>SOLUTION: The system and method for time synchronization between the multimedia content and the segment metadata includes: a content reproduction part for receiving and storing the multimedia content containing first segment time information; a metadata processor for receiving and storing the segment metadata containing second segment time information; a synchronizer for extracting the segment time information from the metadata processor in response to a segment request signal, determining respective reference time points from the first and second segment time information, correcting a relative time point of the content using a difference between the determined reference time points, and synchronizing the received multimedia content and metadata for using the corrected relative time point; and a content segment browser for forwarding the content segment request signal of a user to the synchronizer and reproducing a plurality of segments of the synchronized content. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
