PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container sealing apparatus capable of suppressing a noise and a damage as much as possible even after a long term use, in guiding a seal head to be moved in a box pattern to a predetermined position. SOLUTION: The container sealing apparatus has a locking mechanism 11 to lock freely releasably a floating mechanism 10 between the seal head 2 and a seal head drive device. The locking mechanism 11 starts locking at an optional point of time while the guide section 7 of a retainer 1 and a part 14 to be guided are engaged with each other and maintains the state, and then unlocks the locking state at the point of time or right before the guide section 7 of the following retainer 1 starts guiding the part 14 to be guided, allowing the positional relation when locked between the seal head 2 and the seal head drive device to be variable for each moving cycle.
