PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in recording image quality and generation of mist when recording is performed on a specified area of a recording medium by a recording apparatus employing a record head that is able to jet out ink droplets of different sizes. SOLUTION: The size of ink droplets to be used for recording is set by selection from among ink droplets of different sizes in accordance with the recording area, thereby performing recording based on the setting.
