METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EDITING DATA STREAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data stream editing method for facilitating data stream editing with a unique identifier and assigned metadata by enhancing data stream editing also including the updating of metadata assigned to the data stream. SOLUTION: The data stream has a first unique identifier of an identifier space and has assigned metadata, the metadata comprises meta information and a metadata link, and the metadata link comprises the first unique identifier and at least one data packet identifier. The method comprises steps of: performing an editing operation on the data stream; assigning a second unique identifier of the identifier space to the data stream; storing the first unique identifier for a resolver task; and using a decision matrix for updating the meta-data link.
