PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a resin for an optical material using a masterbatch capable of in a good productivity and efficiently manufacturing it, to provide a resin for an optical material and to provide a plastic lens. SOLUTION: The method comprises polymerizing a polymerizable composition obtained by mixing (A) a first polymerizable monomer having a first functional group having two or more active hydrogens in one molecule, (B) a second polymerizable monomer having two or more of a second functional group, that can react with the first functional group, such as a (thio)epoxy group, an iso(thio)cyanate group, etc., and (C) a masterbatch obtained by dispersing or dissolving an additive into a compound having the first functional group or the second functional group as a solvent.
