The extractor hood has a suction blower (14) for vapors (16) coming from the cooker top (10) through a grease filter (18). The suction intake (22) of the filter is adjustable to the level where the grease originates. A blower nozzle (44) is positioned on the side of the cooker top opposite to the filter. A blown air jet generated by the blower or an additional blower is directed by the nozzle across the cooker top towards the filter. The filter is a cyclone filter, and is located in a cover, which may be folded down over the cooker top and also contains an odor filter (36), e.g. a zeolite filter.
