A continuously operating bioreactor system combined with a filtration system is disclosed which may be directed to preparation and purifying of perfusion cell cultures. The bioreactor system comprises first reservior (100) containing fresh liquid medium (10) .the fresh liquid medium (10) is introduced into bioreactor (200) where the cultures are agitated by agitator (290) while they are mixed with cells introduced through inlet (250). The mixed liquid medium is then pumped to filtration reservoir comprising screen (330) which is rotated by rotator (315) from which retentate is recycled to bioreactor (200) .
