UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS DRIVING DEVICE HAVING A FUNCTION OF SMART-CARD READER

A universal serial bus (USB) driving device having a function of a smart-card reader is provided. A USB body of the USB device has a plurality of components including a printed circuit board and a USB connector is protruded from one side of the USB body. The USB body includes a USB control unit controlling a transmission and reception of data with an external device through the USB connector; a memory unit storing the data received through the USB connector; a card inserting slot formed in the side surface of the USB body, a card being inserted into the card inserting slot; a card contact point switch being switched with the card inserted through the card inserting slot; a card contact unit coming in contact with an interface unit of the card inserted through the card inserting slot and serving as transmitting data to and receiving data from the card; a card control unit controlling the reception of data from the card or transmission of data to the card through the card contact unit when a signal due to the switching operation of the card contact point switch is input; and a central processing unit controlling operations of the respective units.
