A protective cap tremendously reduced in weight and providing amazing permeability while taking a water resistant measure in case of rain, wherein a front ventilating port (13) is horizontally formed at the hood part (12) installed at the front of a cap body (10), the hood part (12) is formed with a streamlined curved surface to smoothly lead in fresh air, and the front eaves part (15) of the cap body (10) covers the upper end (12a) of the hood part (12) from the outside in the state of no contact with each other to form the front ventilating port (13). A ventilating port (17) is formed also at the top rear part of the cap body (10). The front ventilating port (13) primarily functions as a lead-in port for fresh air, and the rear ventilating port (17) functions as an exhaust port for the air led and accumulated in the cap body (10).
