<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connection structure or the like between the units of an image forming apparatus, in which electric connection is smoothly accomplished when electric device units are assembled and connector damage can securely be prevented when they are assembled. <P>SOLUTION: The units 2 and 3 of the image forming apparatus composed of at least two or more units fitted together vertically are electrically connected via male and female connectors 15 that are detachable vertically one from the other. The lower unit 3 includes an forward/backward movement structure 160, etc., for attaching female or male connector 15a disposed at the top of the lower unit 3, such that the connector 15a is movable between a projecting position and a retracting position relative to the upper face.
