<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner from falling when a cleaning device is taken out of the main body of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning device 15 removes residual toner from the surface of a photoreceptor drum (image carrier) 11 and sends out the removed toner with a toner conveying means 50. In the cleaning device 15, the toner conveying means is allowed to perform a first operation by normally rotating to send out the toner and a second operation by reversely rotating to return the toner into the cleaning device. For example, the second operation is carried out every time when an image forming operation is finished. Or the second operation is carried out after the first operation. It is prefer for the cleaning device to control so that when the cleaning device is suspended from the handle held with a hand, the part of the toner conveying means, which is the closest to a toner discharging opening, is higher than the other parts of it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
