SECONDARY BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline storage battery with improved cycle life characteristics by preventing capacity degradation due to the fall-off of a cathode plate active material and a micro-short circuit.

SOLUTION: The alkaline storage battery composed of a strip-shaped cathode plate, a strip-shaped anode plate and a separator, has an electrode group wound in a manner that the tip of the electrode plate at one side protrudes upward and the other protrudes downward by the separator housed in a battery case of which each underside end 9 of the cathode plate in a height direction is covered with the separator 3 opposed to the cathode.
