PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid seal type vibration damper which can reduce the decrease of the vibration damping performance when a large load has been applied in the direction opposite to the direction of application of an initial load, and has a novel structure. SOLUTION: At least one mounting member 12 between a first mounting member 12 and a second mounting member 14 connected to each other so as to be vibration-proof is formed independent of an elastic rubber body 16 and is arranged so as to come into contact with the elastic rubber body 16 in the direction of application of the initial load. On the other hand, the mounting member 12 is arranged so as to separate from the elastic rubber body 16 in the direction opposite to the direction of application of the initial load. Further, rebound stopper mechanisms 28, 94 for cushioningly suppressing the separating displacement of the mounting member 12 from the elastic rubber body 16 are provided between the first mounting member 12 and the second mounting member 14.
