PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analytical method capable of analyzing easily and inexpensively, in particular, polychloro biphenyls (PCB) in an an insulation oil difficult to be analyzed, in a short time, as to a quantitative analyzing method for the polychloro biphenyls. SOLUTION: This quantitative analytical method for the polychloro biphenyl (PCB) contained in the insulation oil has at least a process for burning the insulation oil under an oxygen gas containing atmosphere, a process for measuring an amount of hydrogen chloride generated in the combustion by a coulometric titration method, and a process for calculating an amount of the PCB, based on the obtained amount of hydrogen chloride, in the quantitative analytical method for the PCB contained in the insulation oil.
