PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to accurately control the stop position of an engine, when controlling, because of the rotating inertial force of a mass body such as a flywheel. SOLUTION: This control device for an internal combustion engine comprises an engine stop position control means for controlling an operation stroke when stopping the internal combustion engine having an inertial rotation means for smoothing the rotation.
