The invention concerns a method and device for updating a directory containing coordinates of a telecommunication network subscriber's parties, a first directory being stored in a first telecommunication terminal, a second directory being stored in a second communication terminal. The invention is characterized in that the method comprises the following steps performed at the first telecommunication terminal: receiving coordinates transmitted by the second telecommunication terminal in the form of electronic calling cards, determining which electronic calling cards should be included or eliminated in the directory among the received electronic calling cards and inserting or eliminating the electronic calling cards in the first directory. The invention also concerns the associated updating device.
