PURPOSE: A mobile banking service system and method is provided to shorten communication time in the case of using a phone banking service through a mobile terminal by installing access and authentication information in the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: The user of a mobile terminal, in which a phone banking module is installed, selects bankbook dealings or CD/ATM dealings after selecting a bank(a). If the user selects the bankbook dealings, the mobile terminal displays a main menu to make the user select a transaction type(b). If the user selects a transaction type, the mobile terminal requests the user to input a PIN number to access an authentication key storage unit(c). If an inputted PIN number is matched, the mobile terminal displays transaction bankbooks and their account numbers(d). If the user pushes an inquiry button after selecting one of the displayed bankbooks, the mobile terminal makes a communication connection to the phone banking service center of the selected bank and transmits transaction type information, bankbook information, and the user's access information. Then the mobile terminal receives and displays an inquiry result(e).
