PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to improve the doming quality and the dropping characteristic by optimizing a structure of an AK mask supporter and a panel. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube includes a panel, a funnel, and a shadow mask. The panel(1) includes an outer surface and an inner surface having a constant curvature. The funnel is mounted on a rear surface of the panel. The shadow mask(3) includes a plurality of electron beam passing holes. A value of B/A is 130% to 170% where the vertical distance between an inner surface of the shadow mask and an inner surface of the panel is Q, the vertical distance between the inner surface of the shadow mask and a plane for spring combination holes is M, the length between a center of the shadow mask and an effective surface on a long axis of the shadow mask is L, an increment rate between the Q/M at the center of the shadow mask and Q1/M1 at a L/2 point on the long axis of the shadow mask is A, and an increment rate between Q2/M2 at a 3L/5 point on the long axis of the shadow mask and Q3/M3 at an L point is B.
