PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to prevent a panel from bulging in the ineffective section of the inner surface of the panel, and achieve improved color purity and white uniformity. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel(1) having an inner surface on which a screen is formed; a funnel having a cone portion, and which is mounted on the rear surface of the panel; an electron gun accommodated in the neck portion of the funnel, and which emits electron beams toward the screen; and a shadow mask having a plurality of electron beam passing holes formed on the inner surface of the panel. One of red, green, and blue phosphors is formed on a curved zone(6) of the ineffective section of the inner surface of the panel, wherein the curved zone is provided with a graphite.
