PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method for complementing disadvantages both of a switchboard connection and of a peer-to-peer connection.

SOLUTION: The exemplary method involves creating a master session over a first connection through a server and creating a virtual channel over the first connection. The virtual channel is operable to communicate a feature session. A direct connection that bypasses the server is then established to switch communication of the feature session to the direct connection.
