<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid treatment apparatus not requiring power for motor drive and maintenance of a rotary mechanism part, wherein sludge is prevented from depositing to a bottom part of a treatment tank, sludge can be extracted and discharged at irregular intervals, and further treatment performance, efficiency and cost efficiency are enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The waste water treatment apparatus 10 is provided with a roughly conically shaped cylindrical body 12 whose lower end is extended inside the treatment tank 11. In the apparatus, a diffusion and sludge suction device 13 for diffusing and sucking the sludge is arranged at the lower side of the cylindrical body 12. The aeration and sludge suction device 13 has a roughly conical shape whose lower side is extended, equipped with an aperture opposing to the bottom face of the treatment tank 11, and wherein the upper part is connected to a diffusion and sludge suction pipe 14. The diffusion and sludge suction pipe 14 is branched by a three-way switching valve 15 at the outside of the treatment tank 11, and connected to an air blow-in pipe 16 and a sludge discharge pipe 17 respectively.
