<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for manufacturing a honeycomb body to be used for a metal carrier capable of preventing generation of defective honeycomb bodies attributable to meandering of a flat plate. <P>SOLUTION: The present use of foils of a flat plate W<SB>1</SB>for unit turn of a winding shaft is measured, and the future use of foils of the flat plate for unit turn of the winding shaft is estimated. The actually measured value corresponding to the estimated value out of the measurement values is compared with the estimated value. If the actually measured value is within an estimated value range, the winding tension is determined to be acceptable, and if the measured value is out of the estimated value range, the winding tension is determined to be abnormal, and generation of defective honeycomb bodies is prevented in advance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
