PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reliable and efficient starting operation, in a drive method for an igniter element of a heater device of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the initial phase of a heater device of a vehicle, (a) calculate a parameter about a heating power of an igniter element, (b) compare the parameter about the heating power with a reference value, and (c) increase the heating power of the igniter element if the parameter is smaller than the reference value.
