PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction sensing type operation device for a hydraulic excavator having a new structure, which enables an operator to obtain a further precise operating feeling in the control of a front attachment or the rotating operation of an upper machine. SOLUTION: The reaction sensing type operation device 11 of the hydraulic excavator comprises pressure reducing mechanisms 6 and 6, which are provided on the extending operation-side hydraulic circuit 53 and contracting operation-side hydraulic circuit 55 of a hydraulic cylinder 51 adapted so that a hydraulic control valve 4 applies a hydraulic pressure according to the inclining operation of an operation lever 2, respectively, and a reaction generation part 7 for generating a reaction reversed to the inclining operation of the operation lever 2, which is provided in each pressure reducing mechanism.
