MAGNETIC HEAD, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE USING THE MAGNETIC HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminated magnetic head having excellent high-frequency characteristics and a magnetic recording/reproducing device using the same and adaptive to high frequencies. SOLUTION: A pair of magnetic core halves are constituted by holding both sides of a metal magnetic layer having a negative magnetostriction constant or both sides of a laminated film formed by alternately laminating the metal magnetic layer and a nonmagnetic layer, and the magnetic core halves are bonded together through a spacer to constitute a laminated magnetic head. The inner peripheral part of a winding groove disposed in at least one of the magnetic cores is covered with glass having a thermal expansion coefficient larger than that of the metal magnetic layer. Thus, the magnetic circuit of an area near the winding groove exerting largest influence on the recording/reproducing efficiency of a magnetic head is along the axis of hard magnetization.
