摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive identification sensor capable of precisely determining the kind of an object with minimum sample data by using the geometric symmetry of the surface structures applied to both sides of the object. SOLUTION: The identification sensor 2 is for determining the kind of the object by optically sensing the surface structures 6a and 6b on both sides of the object 4. A plurality of identification sensors are arranged in symmetric positions to the center line T of the object. Each identification sensor comprises a light emitting element 8 for radiating a sensing light L toward the surface structure of the object during scanning, a light receiving element 10 for receiving a light R generated from the surface structure of the object when radiating the sensing light, and an arithmetic determination part 12 for performing a predetermined arithmetic processing to an electric signal outputted from the light receiving element, and comparatively determining which of a plurality of preliminarily registered sample data the calculated operation result corresponds to, thereby determining the kind of the object.
