PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion apparatus having a burner capable of maximizing an in-furnace denitration effect by meeting both requirements for a low flow velocity for flame retainability necessary for generating reduction substance and a high velocity necessary for allowing the reduction substance to sufficiently reach the main stream of the flame of the burner. SOLUTION: A flame retaining ring 7 is fitted to the tip of a pulverized coal nozzle 6 for leading, therein, a mixed fluid of pulverized coal and carrying gas. A pulverized coal inside nozzle 10 radially divided into two or more flow passages is installed in the pulverized coal nozzle 6. The jetting velocity of the mixed fluid from either of the other fuel flow passages excluding the fuel flow passage on the outermost side is made fastest. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
