PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition having a low specific gravity in which hysteresis loss or dynamic loss is reduced by formulating fullerenes as a reinforcing material and to provide a tire using the rubber composition, having low pyrogenic property and excellent in durability and rolling resistance. SOLUTION: In the rubber composition obtained by formulating a rubber component with fullerenes, the fullerenes are produced by an arc discharge method or CVD (chemical vapor deposition) method and the rubber component includes a rubber component (a) containing at least one kind of heteroatom among nitrogen, tin and silicon in the molecule.
