PURPOSE: Provided is a ceramic additive for anti-fouling paint preventing adhesion of marine organisms on the surface of a ship, etc., in the seawater or river, which does not emit harmful materials, improves the duration of anti-fouling effect by 2-3 times and is non-toxic to fishes and shellfishes. CONSTITUTION: The ceramic additive for anti-fouling paint is obtained by pulverizing monazite and bastnaesite emitting anions and weak radiation wavelength into microparticles having a size of 1 micrometer or less; mixing them in a ratio of monazite powder : bastnaesite powder of 10-90wt% : 90-10wt%; further adding 100 wt% of tourmaline to the above mixture in the ratio of 1:1 and mixing them with stirring; forming the mixture into spherical ceramics having a size of 0.5-1 mm and drying them; baking the formed composition at 600 deg.C or lower and cooling the composition; milling the composition into powder having a size of 6 micrometers or less by using a jet mill to provide an additive containing the above three components. The additive is added in an anti-fouling paint in an amount of 7-25 wt%. |
