<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assaying whether a patient is Sjogren's syndrome accurately and simply by measuring the distribution of mass of the protein in the lacrimal fluid, a method for monitoring the Sjogren's syndrome patient, and a marker for diagnosis of the Sjogren's syndrome. <P>SOLUTION: The increase or decrease of the protein having any mass number in the lacrimal fluid in any situation is measured by a protein chip system based on the distribution of mass of the protein in the lacrimal fluid. The change of the distribution amount of the protein peculiar to the Sjogren's syndrome patient is found out by confirming the change of the distribution amount of the protein, and the mass number of the changing protein is specified. The Sjogren's syndrome patient can be monitored by observing the mass number of the protein and the change pattern of the distribution amount thereof.
