PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly correct printing density differences by printing places where sheets of recording paper are printed.
SOLUTION: In a density adjustment sheet 1, the entire printing area of recording paper is divided into nine sections. Density patches of thirty-four different gradations are printed on each of the nine separate printing sections 1a to 1i. The patches that have the same density are uniformly dispersed so that each of the printing sections 1a to 1i includes one of these patches. In an ununiform density adjustment sheet 2, the entire printing area of recording paper is printed with uniform, fixed density. The ununiform density adjustment sheet 2 is read by the scanner of a copying machine. Patches in 324 parts, which exactly correspond with 324 patches on the density adjustment sheet 1, are individually read from the ununiform density adjustment sheet 2, and the densities in the 324 parts are measured. The output densities measured using the density adjustment sheet 1 and ununiform density adjustment sheet 2 are compared with target densities determined in the process of design. New gamma curves are calculated and the contents of the gamma curve tables are rewritten.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
