<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can report the residual amount of consumables at the adequate timing at which the interruption of image formation due to the lack of the consumables does not occur. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a development device which supplies a visualizing material to the image formed on a photoreceptor, a counter 125 which measures the number of times of the image formation or the repeated time of the image formation using the photoreceptor, a detector 105a which detects the remaining amount of the visualizing material of the development device, and a visualizing material replenishing timing calculating mechanism 121 which causes a display device 131 to display the timing to replenish the visualizing material based on the remaining amount of the visualizing material detected at the first timing by the detector and the remaining amount of the visualizing material detected at the second timing at which the prescribed number of times or the lapse of the prescribed time from the first timing is measured by the counter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
