PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distillation apparatus with a superior economic performance for obtaining an objective distillate from raw materials with nearly same composition, with the same accuracy as an ordinary temperature control system and with the same facility cost and running cost, and its control method. SOLUTION: This distillation apparatus distilling an objective substance by feeding raw material is provided with a raw material concentration measuring means 102 measuring a concentration of an indexical substance in the raw material 101, a concentration part side distillation tower inside concentration measuring means 105 installed in a distillation tower 10 in an enriching side and measuring a concentration of the indexical substance in an enriching section 103 and an exhausting part 104 of the distillate, a measuring means 106 for measuring concentration in the exhaust section in the distillation tower, and a control means 107 controlling at least one of amounts of reflux of distillate, vaporizing or product distillate so as to satisfy the standard of recovery of product distillate or the standard of concentration of impurities.
