The plant has a compressor (1), a compressed air tank (2), and a device for compressed air processing. The air tank is connected to a compressed nitrogen tank (6) via a selectively permeable gas filter (4), which permits filtered nitrogen to flow into the tank via a nitrogen line (5). A regulateable shut-off valve (9) in a compressed air line (3) between tank and filter opens/closes the line, when the pressure in the nitrogen tank falls to a low level/rises to a top level. An adjustable throttle valve (11) is located in the nitrogen line for flow volume control, and the line also contains a volume measurer (12). Both tanks have shut-off connections (16) for tire inflation devices and/or other appliances operated under gas pressure.
