"A device for assembling a vehicle seat having a seat upholstery and a sensing mat. The device includes a first supporting device having a receiving surface for receiving the sensing mat and a second supporting device for receiving the seat upholstery, the first and second supporting devices being movable with respect to each other so as to bring the seat upholstery and the sensing mat into contact with each other. The first supporting device includes at least one positioning means for positioning and maintaining the sensing mat in a predefined position with respect to the first supporting device and at least one actuatable embedding means for embedding a portion of the sensing mat into a recess of the seat upholstery, the actuatable embedding means being movable from an extended position, in which the embedding means extend above the receiving surface of the first supporting device and a retracted position, in which the embedding means are positioned below the receiving surface of the first supporting device."
