Apparatus and method for analysing light

Light analysis device has a first light source (12) for illumination of a tooth surface (14) and a second light source (16) that illuminates the tooth with light polarized along a first axis. A receiver (18) collects light reflected from the tooth surface to generate an image of the tooth surface. The receiver has a polarizer (30) that polarized the reflected light along a second axis at an angle to the first polarization axis. Independent claims are also included for: (1) A dental camera; (2) A method for imaging a tooth surface.
