A bearing cap (2a) is bolted to the cylinder head (3) by a cap bolt (29) to fix relative position of the camshaft (4) to the cylinder head. An oil escape bore (23) that connects a cap bolt insert bore (22) formed in the bearing cap (2a) through a chain casing (7) to an oil pan (10) is formed in the bearing cap (2a), wherein the oil escape bore (23) is positioned with a distance from a cylinder-head meeting surface (24) of the bearing cap. As a result the oil escape bore (23) is formed without damaging mounting performance of the bearing cap to the cylinder head. <IMAGE> |
