PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect data of printer and host computer sides against unexpected OFF of power source switch. SOLUTION: An OFF signal of a power switch 1 is input as a trigger to a CPU 3. When the printer is printing data from a host computer, it outputs a control signal to a power source control mechanism 5 by waiting a print end. At this time, a transmission stop signal is sent from a host interface 4 to the computer. A printer power source is turned off by the mechanism 5. And, the OFF signal of the switch 1 is input to a timer 2. The timer 2 counts a predetermined time and outputs a control signal to the mechanism 5. Thus, even if the CPU 3 becomes impossible to be controlled due to runaway, the power source can be effectively turned off by the timer 2. |
