<p>The headgear (1) comprises a cap (2) or, in a variant, a head band that has a peak (3) at the front to shade the wearer's eyes and a second peak (4) at the back, above the back of the neck, that carries a solar radiation detector (10). The latter is credit card sized and has a means of detecting at least one type of solar radiation, especially ultraviolet, connected to an indicator that gives a visual or audible signal representing the amount of radiation received. The detector can contain, e.g. a photoelectric cell and an indicator with thermochromic liquid crystals that change from green at 35[deg]C to amber at 45[deg]C and red at 55[deg] C, showing that it is time to re-apply a sun screen product.</p> |
