Benzhydril-pyridodiazepines - as antihistaminics and anticholinergics from dihaloalkylpiperidines and arylalkylamines with condensing agent

Cpds. (I) and acid salts: (where mm and n = 1-3; y = 0-2; R1, R2 = H, halogen, lower (alkyl or alkoxy), or R1 + R2 = R3 = H, Ph or CH2Ph opt. ring-substd. by halogen, lower alkoxy, etc.), are antihistaminics, anticholinergics and serotonin antagonists and are prepd. from 1,2-di-(haloalkyl)-piperidines and aryl- or diaryl-alkylamines with condensing agents e.g. NaNH2; pyridine or Na2CO3 in solvents. Pref. (I) are 2- or 3-benzhydryl-polyhydropyrido 1,4 diazepines.
