The fluted shaft carries a chisel shaped head preceded by a collar carrying a pair of tungsten carbide scraper inserts, and has a row of spherical faced inserts along the chisel, the outermost two protruding at an angle. Alternatively, the chisel edge may consist of a pair of pointed edged rectangular inserts, held in slots in the sides by a sunken head bolt, or three equispaced inserts may be fitted.
