Locking and unlocking mechanism for a vehicle door

The door lock actuator for motor vehicle has lock assembly (2) fixed to the door structure and a handle assembly casing (10) fixed to the door and having a handle (12) connected to a catch (11) pivotally mounted (13) on the casing. The catch is connected to the lock by a linkage with a rod (14) coupled at one end to a crank (15) mounted on the catch pivot axis and at the other to the lock. The rod passes through an opening (16) in the casing.
