Exhaust system for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle

An improved mounting for an exhaust system for a vehicle has a damper housing (14) set across the vehicle and attached to the chassis by two double armed brackets, one each side of the housing and incorporating an elastic connection to the damper and with the two end flanges secured to the chassis. The third mounting is fitted to the middle of the rear side of the damper housing and also incorporates an elastic damper. The three mountings form a stable three point support for the damper housing.
